Canon SX20 IS

Finally I have found a Flower lens hood which you can use with your Canon SX20 IS camera. Since Canon doesn’t make screw mount lens hoods anymore we are forced to find a third party Flower Lens hood for Canon Powershot SX20 IS camera. Finally i found this Opteka 58mm Screw Mount Flower / Petal Shaped Lens Hood works. There are bunch of same look like Flower Lens hoods around Amazon but this one is cheaper than those. All of these might be made by same manufacture in China.

Opteka 58mm Screw Mount Flower Lens Hood is plastic. So if you are looking for Great quality lens hood for your DSLR camera then this is not the one for you. This 58mm Screw Mount Flower Lens Hood for Canon SX20 IS camera owners because they don’t have any other choice. Lensmate selling a rubber Lens hood but I’m not happy with that one.

There is something you should keep in mind if you going to use this 58mm Screw Mount Flower Lens Hood with your Canon SX20 IS camera. First fix the Lens Hood to your 58 Filter Adapter and then fix the Filter Adapter to Lens  barrel. This advice is to keep grooves on your Lens barrel safe. If you damage grooves on your Canon SX20 IS camera then you are in real trouble because you won’t able to fix the filter adapter.

 

Installation:

* Rotate lock-ring to expose the thread’s mounting thread.

* Attach the hood by screwing it on the filter or lens thread. 

* Rotate lock-ring back to fix the hood on the thread. 

* While fixating the hood with the lock-ring, keep the “v” symbol on the hood exactly at 12 o’clock position for the correct perpendicular orientation of the higher sides of the hood.
