About Ebay 58mm Filter Adapter for Canon SX20 IS Camera

Ok Finally I have figured out how to fix the 58 Filter Adapter from Ebay. Well you need to push it bit into grooves. But I’m not very Happy about this because this might damage grooves of Lens barrel. I don’t want that to happen. That’s the main reason going for a 58mm filter Adapter. Otherwise you can force 52mm filters into your lens barrel.
If you are in USA then better buy Janco 58mm Filter Adapter from Amazon.com It’s metal and also you can return it to Amazon without hassle if you are not happy with it. Lenmate plastic filter adapter is ok but their shipping is too much. Go for ebay filter adapter only if you can’t take any of them.

update : After fixing it several times now the filter adapter fits without a problem. So just be careful till you get hang on how to get it done correctly.

Ebay 58mm Filter Adapters for Canon SX20 camera sux

Yeah I bought 2 58 Filter Adapters from Ebay and both can’t be fixed to my Canon SX10 IS camera. Yeah Silly me , bought 2 ! I guess there are no quality control Also they cost same as Janco 58mm Filter Adapter and Lensmate 58mm Filter Adapter. Guys don’t go for these junk from ebay buy a Janco 58mm Filter Adapter from Amazon.com or Lensmate 58mm Filter Adapter from their site.
I don’t want to force those into Lens barrel and they simple not fit in. I ll try again tomorrow carefully and post about result. Also photos. I have a bad feeling I ll have to return these. I was really happy and was looking forward to use these metal 58mm Filter Adapters for Canon SX20 IS camera and Canon SX10 IS camera. I’m totally disappointed.

58mm Filter Adapter for CANON PowerShot SX20 IS

This is really a great news ! One of the biggest problems we have in Canon SX10 , SX1 and SX20 cameras are Unlike the Canon S5, the SX20, SX10 does not have a mount at the base of the built in lens, so a regular tube adapter is not possible. The only option left is attaching a filter adapter at the end of the zoom lens. Till now there were only 58mm Filter Adapter which fit Canon powershot SX20 IS camera. That was Lensmate SX20, SX10 & SX1 IS  58mm Filter Adapter. Only place you can buy it from is their own website. BUT,
Now there is a new 58mm Filter Adapter out there which fit CANON PowerShot SX20 IS perfectly ! That is Janco 58mm Filter Adapter for CANON PowerShot SX1 SX-20 SX-10 DC lens. Janco 58mm Filter Adapter is a custom designed for Canon SX20, SX10 & SX1 IS lens and it Allows camera to accept any 58mm threaded filter, step-up ring or macro lens.A central knurl makes it easy to hang on to when attaching filters or mounting it on the camera.
One important thing you have to keep in mind about this 58mm Filter Adapter for Canon SX20 IS is when this lens adapter mounts on the lens, the lens can not accept the original lens hood or Original Lens Cap. The 4.5 inch is correct size for Canon SX20 IS camera as well as Canon SX10 IS Camera. Also its elastic, expands to fit the circumference of your lens. It keeps me from losing your lens cap so it will worth more than pay. Make sure you glu it properly.

Lensmate SX20, SX10 And SX1 58mm Filter Adapter

Lensmate 58mm Filter Adapter is the first thing you must buy after buying this Canon Powershot SX20 IS camera. Reason is Even Canon SX20 IS doesn’t have threads on the lens barrel for filters. This is something all Canon SX10 IS owners excepted from a upgrade for their camera but It seems Canon didn’t share the same idea. You have to buy this 58mm filter adapter from their own site because you can’t find it anywhere else.

Better order a hot shoe cover with 58mm filter adapter because its cheap but every useful and also shipping would be same. Everything else like filters you can find better stuff and cheaper price at amazon.com

Since Canon SX10, SX1 and SX20 have same Lens size you can use same Filters for all these cameras. Check in Canon SX10 UV Filter to find a Good Lens protector for your new Canon SX20 IS camera. Better spend 40$ for a UV filter can keep safe your 400$ cameras Lens.
