I know most of Canon Powershot SX20 IS owners would like to mount a teleconverter lens but this is something impossible. Use of a Teleconverter is not recommended with Canon SX10 IS, SX20 IS cameras. Even the 58mm Filter adapter is for light weight filters. Even in Lensmate website they say this is not recommended because the filter holder attaches to the end of the cameras zoom lens they do not recommend add on lenses like tele or wide angle because of the weight. The motor in the lens mechanism isn’t designed to carry the extra weight. you could potentially damage the motor or lens. Chances are, you’re going to get quite a bit of vignetting with a teleconverter too.
Only converter I can recomend so far is Raynox DCR-250, Macro-Scan 2.5x Super Macro Conversion Lens
. which comes with Snap-on Universal Mount for 52mm to 67mm Filter Diameters. It obtains the maximum macro magnification power when set at the most telephoto position of zoom lens such as Built in zoon lens of SX20 IS or SX10 IS cameras. I have this and love it.
