Fisheye lens for SX20

Unfortunately there are aren’t any Fishsys lens for SX20. There are 58mm Fisheye convertors which you can fix your Canon SX20 camera with a 58mm filter adapter but better careful about this. These Ultra zoom compact cameras are not made for mounting external lenses so might effect the motor of lens barrel in bad way.

There are 58mm Fisheye Lens for Canon SX20 camera in Amazon. Don’t expect same quality you get from a real Fisheye lens but these are good for play around with you SX20 camera. My only worry is the weight of these Fisheye lens.

Canon Sx20 Successor ?

Canon had announced a successor for Canon Powershot SX10 camera even before a year from its launch but they are pretty quite about the successor of Canon SX20 IS camera. Canon taking time probably means they are going to come up with a better model than the old one which is Canon SX20. There aren’t much difference between Canon SX10 and Canon SX20 since those are nearly identical cameras except for 12 PM resolution and HD Video features of Canon SX20 which are not very impressive as Canon fans expected.

Also Canon must be at its limits since if they want to add a bigger lens then they will need a bigger CMOS processor which will make the camera more heavier. They already stopped the CMOS version of Canon SX10 which was known as SX1 So its hard to predict what Canon going to do this time. Everyone waiting to see the next Canon Ultrazoon compact camera

CHDK for Canon SX20 Still in Beta

I have no idea why CHDK for Canon SX20 is Still in Beta. There is a way using SX10 CHDK for Canon SX20 but its own CHDK is better. I don’t think it had taken this long for SX10 CHDK.

I Hope they would release a stable CHDK version for SX20 soon but I don’t see it gonna happen anywhere in near future !

Fake SDHC cards on E-bay

If you bought a SDHC or Compact memory card from E-bay then check the card again. Specially careful about SanDisk SDHC and Compact flash cards. Originals cards have an unique serial number on each of those. There is a huge chance your cards are fake ! It’s pretty hard to find this till you receive the card.

It’s better buy SDHC cards for your Canon SX20 camera from a local camera store or a reputed online camera site like Amazon.com. Don’t buy those fake cards from e-bay because those are little cheaper.

Check these SanDisk compact Flash (CF) cards. Left side one is the fake card which doesn’t have the serial number. So be careful if you buy SDHC or CF cards from Ebay. You might ended up with Fake card which has poor performance.

It took me a sometimes to understand and tame the Raynox DCR 250 Macro Filter but I’m very happy with its result ! Raynox DCR 250 is high quality macro filter made in Japan and you can’t find a better macro filter for your Canon SX20 than this one.

This Raynox DCR 250 Macro Filter has very low depth of field and takes a while to get used to the macro filter. You need to zoom in and out as well as physically move close and away from object till you find right sharpness and focus.

A tripod and external flash can give you better result but you can do fine with built in flash most of the time. These Ant photos are taken by hand held. If you have decided to go for a Raynox DCR 250 Macro Filter then you have made a right choice !

Macro Photography can be very addictive thing. Can be very expensive too since a Macro lens can be priced around $600 at least. Which means a lens can be expensive than the Canon SX20 Camera. Also you can’t fix lenses to Canon SX20 or SX10 Cameras.

But it doesn’t mean Canon SX20 or SX10 owners can’t have fun with macro. These cameras have 2 built in macro modes. Macro mode and Super Macro mode. Even if these modes are not enough for you to get the sallow depth of field you want then you can try the Raynox DCR-250 Macro filter and take wonderful Macro photos with Canon SX20 Camera.
