There are different opinions about using UV filters as Lens protector for cameras. If you have DSLR with $1000 Lens I think UV filter is a must to keep your expensive lens safe. As for Canon SX20 IS camera some say no UV Filter is needed. But since the built in lens of the SX20 camera is not replaceable I think its better use a UV filter to keep your Canon SX20 Lens safe from scratches.
If you are using a 58mm Filter adapter then you need to use a 58mm UV filter. Some people say that a UV filter reduces the quality of the image that you take. But if you buy a good quality UV filter there is very little chance this to happen. Buying a B+W 58mm UV filter or Hoya 58mm H-HMC UV filter would be good choices. |
